A couple weeks ago, we visited some friends of ours in Chicago, and while there, I saw some !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! This time around, we were here to pick up our !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but we still had some time to poke around downtown and see what cool rides were running around.

Kinja'd!!!

This V8 Vantage convertible sounded as sexy as it looked, of course.

Kinja'd!!!

While the Lotus Evora doesn’t do anything for me, it’s still cool to see one in the wild.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Nifty i8. The red car behind the XJ was a P85D.

Kinja'd!!!

I don’t care how many generations old it is, or how wealthy an area you are in, a red Ferrari convertible is still and attention getter.

Kinja'd!!!

Terrible photo of an older 911 Turbo convertible.

Kinja'd!!!

Like the Evora owner, the SLS decided that front license plate laws were not worth spoiling the good looks of the car.

Kinja'd!!!

Old school Rolls. I think the license plate says “DOW IT”

Kinja'd!!!

At least one person actually bought a GLA45 AMG. I salute you, person.

Kinja'd!!!

Oh look, a bald guy on a bike!

Kinja'd!!!

I used to love these. Now not so much. Still irritates me when people bag on it though. Unless they are complaining about the looks, which are so-so.

Kinja'd!!!

This was in front of the restaurant where we ate lunch. It hurt to look at. I was glad when it left. Why do so many people who buy Phantoms insist on the giant stupid wheels?

Kinja'd!!!

Saw plenty of ///M, AMG, and RS cars, but tried to limit the pictures I took of those. Here’s and E60 M5 that drove by the restaurant.

Kinja'd!!!

This 1939 Packard has been stretched and dropped on a ‘96 Fleetwood chassis. It was outside a church awaiting a bride and groom.

Kinja'd!!!

Exploring the urban jungle.

Kinja'd!!!

V10 S8.

Kinja'd!!!

Okay, pedantic donks snobs (you’d think that would be an oxymoron) does this count? It’s a Caprice.

Kinja'd!!!

This was my first time driving our new car, and it was in the middle of downtown Chicago. I asked my dad to take a picture of this Renntech Maybach 57S for me. He did okayish.

Kinja'd!!!

Some K-roll bait at the local Greek festival.

Kinja'd!!!

And this. Not what I’d expect an optometrist to drive. It had “CUMMINS TURBO DIESEL” in mold letters over the windshield, under the row of orange semi cab lights.

That isn’t, however, a ‘33 Packard. It’s a ‘40

I thought it looked newer, but both the sign on the back and the driver said it was a ‘33. They must be wrong.

There’s an old Aston Lagonda that’s always parked near Sheridan/Barry in Lakeview.

You’d be surprised just how many sports car owners abandon their front license plates here. Cops don’t really write tickets for it unless your a super dick. When I had my dakota my front license plate got ripped off during some off road ing cause I didn’t have a front bracket for it and when I got my replacement I just kept it in the front window and no one cared

We saw one of these last night on our way home from the lake. My wife actually said, “eww, that’s a Ferrari? I thought they were supposed to be good looking?”

Always tons of nice cars out here on weekends with good weather. The car spotting is the 1 thing I really miss about living around there.

I used to think that, but then I think at least the owner is into cars. It’s not like donk tends to happen to awesome cars that are small production and worth saving anyhow - it’s mostly malaise era rides.
